Established in 2016 in Shenzhen, China, Cheerland Biotechnology (CLB) has established business presence in molecular diagnostics, biologics CDMO, and clinical services, aiming to become a leading biotech enterprise in China and the world.

Pictorial History

Cheerland Investment Group was established in New York and had invested in high-tech projects, with a focus on biotech, between 2006 and 2015. It returned to China in early 2016 and established Cheerland Biotechnology (CLB) in Shenzhen. Starting from next-generation sequencing and genetic testing, CLB transitioned to biologics CDMO in 2020. A few key milestones are:

  • In 2016, Beijing Cheerland Gene Technology and Shenzhen Cheerland Biotechnology were established respectively; Beijing Cheerland Diagnostic Laboratory was certified.
  • Signed agreement with Nobel Prize winner Dr. James Watson in January 2017; that March, Dr. Watson was invited to visit China and headlined the first Shenzhen International Precision Medicine Summit.
  • In March 2018, Dr. Watson visited China again and attended the launching and ground-breaking ceremony of the Cheerland Watson Center for Life Sciences and Technology, which was opened in May 2020.
  • May 2021, CLB CDMO officially launched; the first production line went online in September 2021; by end of 2023 plan to reach capacity of 425 kL …
